I would like my lady friend to come to UK from the phillippines with the intention of finding a job and get to know her better before marriage

She will need to apply to the home office for a visa.

If she wants to work she will need a work visa....this will be basically impossible as she will have to pass the "high skill" criteria and she must show that she is finacially capable of supporting herself in this country.
If she doesn;t need to work she will need a holiday Visa...not that easy to get....but she can;t work with that
If you marry her there is still real problems as there is no garentee that they will let her in the country..you would have to prove that it is not a fake marrage...that can take a number of years in extreem cases.
Check out the various visa's on the home office page...if she is well educated and holds a good job in the phillipeans she may qualify for HSMP status...this lets people work and is a good visa to get.
If not then if she is young then a good solution is for her to study in this country...you could pay her tutition fees etc....but she would have to win a place at uni here.

It's very hard to get VISA when she doesn't have a job first, and she's not married.
She got to be engaged, or she has to have special skills for a certain job to be qualified for a VISA.

Have you tried to get a fiance visa? I know here in the states you can get a visa to bring your fiance in and then apply for a work permit then you can see what happens

Thats a hard one, try buying a plane ticket, taxis from them places can be expensive, i think they done away with that bus route aswell due to cutbacks

is she willng to come? or its just you that wants her to come? filipinos are hard workers so if you ask her im sure she will accept it... its not that hard to bring her in UK... its just expensive ^.~ but if you really want her to come then go for it... and goodluck ^.~
