He may not, my niece liked a guy for a year and they were buds, watched movies, even napped together. She had to make the 1st move.

No, it wouldn't be wrong at all! It's great that you realize his shyness and are willing to take the initiative and make the first step. It is common for girls to simply assume that a guy, if interested, will make the first move. Obviously, guys are just as afraid of rejection as girls are. Making a subtle move, like an invite to a neutral movie or a coffee-shop, would be your best bet. Not only are you showing interest, but it's not too "out there" as to seem like you are obssesed with him. He could take it both ways, as a date or as a hang-out thing, depending on how he feels about you. If he feels the same way for you, then he will (in some manner) respond to your move. It's great that you are bold enough to take the first step! Just remember, there are no set "rules" for dating. If you like somebody and don't want to wait for them to come to their senses, do something! Hope that helped!

we would hope so . but will the not shy girl show him that with her at his side they have a good chance of going the distance, doing that by making the first move.

It depends. With my boyfriend, we both liked one another for 4 years before we started to date. We were friends, but we didn't know that we liked one another more than that....until the day I told him that I liked him more than friends....he had no clue...and i didn't know he liked me either.
You can either take the chance and tell him, or let it go on like it did with my friend, for years.

I honestly don't think he'll make a move unless you show him that you like him back. That would give more confidence to the guy....

This is 2007....if the girl wants to go out with a guy....she should have the balls to ask him.
Where are these "sissy-girls" coming from?
Ask for what you want......I do and it makes my life so much easier.

Balls, your wording has me thinking about you. That's a little harsh! Are you a frustrated little girl? You probably could have used the word, "Guts". I think you need more than advice, you probably need to get laid. If you tone down it a little bit, you might just get more d i c k !

I think you should just go for it and make the first move. Ask him to hangout sometime.
