when you cut an apple and leave it out and the white part turns brown - well eat it then - it's an old fashioned remedy for diarrhea.

It's true.

When you have diarrhea you should remember BRAT it stands for Banana, Rice, Apples and Tea. All of which will help you out with your problem. Getting back to your request, my mom used to make us a boiled fish dish that was great and it is served over rice. You need to boil some cod fish until cooked then throw out 1/2 the water, and add 1 onion thinly sliced, 1 can of tomato sauce some garlic salt pepper and oregano. When the mixture has boiled down, pour over the rice and there you have it. It is easy and quick.

New England Boiled Dinner Recipe
This is a popular traditional New England one-pot meal that is tasty and easy to prepare.
4 pound corned beef roast
4 quarts cold water
3 large onions
2 large turnips
1 medium size head of cabbage
5 large carrots
5 medium potatoes

Rinse the roast in cold water. Peel the potatoes, carrots, turnips, and onions and cut them and the cabbage into quarters.

Cover the beef with the water, bring to a boil, and drain. Discard this water, which will be very salty. Cover the meat again with four more quarts of water and let it simmer until tender (several hours).

Remove the meat from the water. You should have at least three pints of broth. Add the onions to the broth and cook for 30 minutes, then add the rest of the vegetables and cook for 25 to 30 minutes longer, or until the vegetables are tender.

Remove the vegetables from the broth with a slotted spoon and place them on a large platter with the meat in the middle.

Take some chicken pieces; remove the skin and place them on to boil - when done, retain the broth and cut the chicken up and add a bag of frozen mixed vegetables; a canned of stewed tomatoes; an onion [quartered] You can also add some Chicken Broth [low sodium] for more liquid.

This recipe is also good using diced lamb shoulder chops

You might also like a cabbage dish - shred a head of cabbage, add some julienned carrots and a couple of potatoes....if you absolutely must have meat, you can get some kielbasa or italian sausage [ take skin off and brown it first to drain fat] and add it.

Try making a version of chicken soup. Poach chicken breasts in water, along with carrots and celery. Add seasoning to taste, but keep it very bland if you are sick. Serve this with plain rice. Stay away from apples and apple juice, as this will make diarrhea worse.

Cook a good brown rice, add onions to them for flavor. Stir some chicken, pineapple and green bell pepper with it. It fills you and tastes great.

what about some pasta and a little butter on it.
If you can have butter you could boil some veggies with the possibilities are almost endless - season them with butter, salt & pepper.
Hang in there
