I am going cold turkey and quitting all drugs but it makes me very uncomfortable. A missionary came by and sold me this litle bible and told me to pray on it and the cravings wilt cease in a day or so. I am sweating bullets and the missionary didn't come back. Did he just want my money and sex?

There are many christian drug rehab places that can help you. Yes, God completely does the healing, but do not negate help. The missionary should have stayed with you, to help you through the withdrawals- I can never understand people that say they are believers, so the bible is all you need, and leave the person when they are in deepest need. Absolutely the bible will lead to the truth that God can heal you, but he also sent people to us to bear each others burdens. I was going through a rough time and someone that called me her best friend, told me she would pray at home but could not stick around and comfort me and pray with me. By the way, that missionary did not want sex did he?

I hope you didn't give anyone any money or sex for a little bible! Prayers do come true but sometimes it takes years for them to. GOD is watching over you at all times and he will help you through this. If you go by the sign of the alamac calendar when the sign is below the waist, the thigs, legs and feet (I know this sounds stupid but its not) you will be able to quit any habit but you've really got to be willing to give it up. I checked my calendar and I checked my calendar and its in the thighs now so your off to a good start. Good Luck and I don't know your name but I know GOD does and I will remember you in my prayers daily, I pray many times.

My heart goes out to you. I was addicted to drugs and alcohol for forty years. It controlled every part of my life and I was miserable. God saved me from this stronghold and took the craving away. I now have a real life and feel soooo much healthier and happier. God can break any addiction if you use his strength that he freely gives to you. You need some help with this. If you go to this Christian Website, there is a course that you can take that provides you with a one on one mentor and will guide you through your difficult times. It worked for me. I have a real life now. You have nothing to loose. Please give it a try. It is free. I will pray for your recovery.
God bless you in your effort:
Kait.

Are you sure you weren't still on drugs, and that person was your drug dealer, who took your money and had sex with you! ohhhh

Missionaries don't sell the Bible, they give it out for free.

Poor baby, be strong you have a long way to go.

God helps those who help themselves. You started taking drugs, then you have to do the work and stop taking drugs. Don't blame God for you mistakes in life. Grow up, be strong, and fix your own problems yourself.

Add,
Osama, we know you are little nutty radical, but we didn't know you are guy too!! well, whatever makes you happy. just don't tell your wives. They probably kick your turban really hard!! ouch.

Gee, I'd have helped you for either.
Lot of suffering the first few weeks, take oxazepam to aid sleep. 6 months much better, 1 year milestone often complete relapse at this point or go for 2 years then have a real chance to make permanent.

First of all Jesus can deliver you from drugs (or anything for that matter). But there is this thing called consequences!

You still have to ride it out, Jesus does not always take everything away. Who knows, you may be able to use his as a testimony to help other get off drugs.

The cravings will be removed in God's time, not necessarily yours.

Try placing a call to NA (Narcotics Anonymous)

There is an online source for contact info or you can find them in your local yellow pages.

http://www.na.org/phonelines/phonelin.htm

You will find someone there who already has had this experience and can tell you how it was for them.

Best wishes!

Jesus won't remove the cravings, but He will give you the means to remove them yourself. Nobody ever said it would be easy. It won't just "magically" happen. Anything worth having is worth working for, and the Good Lord always helps those who help themselves.

Don't know about that "missionary," but cravings don't usually end in a day. I guess you will just have to get serious? Faith girl, faith. And, a willingness to give ALL to God.

He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak. 30Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. 31But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
