This is my favorite recipe for Chai tea latte:

Fill a pitcher or teapot with about 4-5 cups of boiling water
Add 8 chai teabags
Add 2 black tea bags
Steep as long as you like, I steep for about a 15 minutes
Remove teabags
Add 1/4 c. honey stir until dissolved
Add 1 can of coconut milk stir until smooth

For a chai latte smoothy follow above recipe but steep about an hour so it's very strong after you have added the honey and coconut milk let cool completely. I just throw in the fridge in the summer for the next day. Pour about 1 cup of chai tea with 3-4 ice cubes and it makes a very refreshing drink.

I like Stash Chai Spice but it's a stronger spice than Starbucks Chai so you might prefer Bigelow Vanilla Chai, which is very mellow and smooth.

Or You can but a carton of Oregon Chai and follow recipe on box. They are very good.

Chai Tea or Spiced Chai is properly known as Masala Chai which originated in India hundreds of years ago. Believe it or not, Chai has been consumed in India since the 1800's! In India, Chai means Tea and the word Masala defines a combination of herbs and spices that are commonly used in Indian dishes as well as in Ayurverdic Herbal Medicine. Drinking Masala Chai produces a warm soothing effect and a wonderfully calming aspect on the body! Here is a great authentic "Chai Tea Latte" recipe for 2 cups: Ingredients: - 1 1/2 cups of water - 8 green cardamom pods - 2 slices fresh ginger, peel - 1 stick of cinnamon, 2 inches long - 2 whole cloves - 2/3 cups of whole milk or low fat - 3 tsp of loose Assam Tea - 2 Tbs of Agave Syrup Instructions: 1) Crush the cardamom and cloves together until the cardamom pods open up. 2) Put the water and spices into a pot and bring to a boil. 3) Simmer for 5min. 4) Add the milk and Tea and bring mixture to almost boiling and turn off the heat. 5) Allow the brew to infuse the tea for about 2-3 min. 6) Strain the chai, add 1Tbs of sweetener to each cup, stir and enjoy! Hope you enjoy this recipe!

They sell pre-made Chai at most grocery stores, all you need to do is add milk. I love chai lattes as well, but found that buying them everyday was eating away at my savings! The store bought mix isn't exactly the same, but it's pretty good. There are different brands, so try them all to find your favorite. They all come with instructions on how to make different types of chai drinks.
