I am in the middle of buying an old mosque, and I'm intending to do it up a bit. I've got it at a knock down price, as the previous occupants left it in a hell of a mess.

I'm half thinking of turning it into a modern nightspot/nightclub - do you think a good name for an ex-mosque that is now a nightclub, would be 'The Mosque'?

Do you think this is a good idea, if so, could you suggest any suitable names for my new nightclub?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I think it would be a good name. It would certainly make people sit up and take notice, and the look of the building would maybe stimulate peoples' imaginations.

As for people accusing you of stirring up hatred, he is planning on converting a former mosque into a nightclub, not preach rubbish or bomb public transport! Other companies do this kind of thing all the time. O'Neill's and JD Weatherspoons often convert former churches into pubs, and the architecture of the Hanbury Arms ballroom in Kemptown, Brighton is based on a Hindu temple.

I don't think it would cause any hatred because you would be inviting people of al religions and races to come and have a good time. You would be promoting harmony through the means of music and festivity; nothing wrong with that at all. As long as the ethos of your nightspot was of fun and friendship, it would be a great idea.
