Will make your eye sting or nip badly. If only a small amount has contacted with your eye then it will very quickly evaporate off & your eye will stop stinging. Larger amounts should be flushed well with water - stick your head under a cool tap and flush for 5-10 minutes.

Despite its poisonous nature, methylated spirit is sometimes drunk, alone, or mixed with other substances, by alcoholics who have become destitute. As such, there is an argument that the methanol or other poisonous component should be removed because it can cause death and blindness. While it is toxic, the effects may be burning, and possible blurred vision. But I do not believe there are any permanent effects unless yaken orally.

Liquid and high vapour concentration are irritating and may cause watering of the eyes.
Hold eyelids open and rinse the eye continuously with a gentle stream of clean running water or boric saline eye wash bottle for at least fifteen minutes. Seek medical attention should eye irritation persist or become inflamed.

Transient irritation. A stinging sensation which quickly passes as tears dilute the alcohol. NO permanent after effects!
