Do academics get paid for publishing in journals?

unles they are connected in some way to these
journals its possible, but not as a rule.
wat they get out of it then? if they are any good
or having something to add in there field, they may become famous and are asked to give lectures, and getting paid for those.
or the really wise guys, the ultimate bonus
a nobel price!

No, they are not paid. However, as a strong track record in publishing in peer reviewed articles is necessary to secure a university position and gain tenure. In that sense, they are "paid" in the advancements the published article allows.

Actually, most major journals make YOU pay for the publication. That's why most people who publish work for labs or universities which cover the publishing costs.
