They are defiantly NOT the same. I think it's the enemies way of conditioning Christian to tolerate other gods. I way of compromising who we are. If we can allow Allah, then why not other gods.
Don't be fooled . . . . Our God, Abba Father is the only true God!

The idea is that the Jews, Muslims, and Christians all have the same God. It's just that each one diverges at some point in the story. The Christians felt Jesus was the Messiah. The Jews disagreed. They are still worshiping the same God, it's just that the Christians feel this God sent Jesus and the Jews don't. The Muslims felt Christ was not the Messiah and they feel Muhammed was a prophet who added to the faith. The Jews and Christians disagree. Thus, they all have a religion founded on the same God of the Old Testament. They just think the others got the story wrong somewhere - Jesus and/or Muhammed.

Juaism, Christianity and Islam all have a common origin, and many of the stories in the Old Testament are the same as those in Islamic writings. All three religions therefore worship the same God, although they all know Him by different names (Jehovah, God and Allah), and have varying views about the nature of God.

Don't worry, Phoenix - I too got a thumbs down for stating the same facts as you. Some people will "thumbs down" a matter of fact simply to indicate that they wish it were not so!

This is so weak. What did Jesus call God? Do you know that Arabic Christians call God Allah. It literally means The God. Some Christians object saying their God has a son. Maybe they are thinking about some Greek or Roman gods, the God of the OT most certainly does not have a son.

The rationale for this viewpoint would be that none of the religions have it totally right. Many people believe in a God in some form but also believe that every religion has created their own details and interpretations around what God is like.

In other words they all are a bit right and a bit wrong

It's NOT the SAME God because in the Christian view, God says one thing and in the Islamic faith, God says different things. I mean - it is the same God I guess but can you understand that it is not the same in the sense that God doesn't say the same thing in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The Torah, Bible and Qu'ran are different in content. They all have different prophets. Different teachings. This all came from God.

Allah is the Araimic word for God. Christian arabs (like myself), Jewish arabs and Muslim arabs all say Allah when referring to God. There is no seperate muslim God called Allah.

Some believe that God is God is God, and the little details are unimportant. there is a belief that we all worship the same creator but in different ways according to the spiritual journey we are taking in life.

Well they are the same. What's not to understand? The God of Jews, Christians and Muslims is the monotheistic entity known as Yahweh, God, and Allah . . . the One God. All three religions share a common ancestor in Abraham and a common belief in One God.

I don't understand this comparison either. Allah is not, and never will be my god. My God is the trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Allah is not the Triune God.
