What color is the bubble? Does it hurt? Does it bleed or pus? Is it hard or soft when you touch it? Depending on what the conditions of it are, that will determine what you should use to take care of it.

As far as 'two other cleaning products' go, if its not antibacterial or antimicrobial soaps (Dial, Satin, Proven) or sea salt soaks, tea tree oil or a hot compress I suggest you don't use it. In some cases, things like Bactine, rubbing alcohol, peroxide and other strong cleaners can help, but for a lot of people, it makes problems worse.

I suggest you read the following links for information and see your piercer. Its always best to see the area to determine what the problem is.

If you are having problems with it healing, you could soak it with some warm water and sea salt.

Mix warm water and sea salt in a cup, put your belly button over the top of the cup and then slowly lay down and let it soak for a few minutes. That could help it heal without scarring. The bubble might be a scab or a blister that needs to heal.

In New York you have to be 16 with parental consent. No GOOD piercer will pierce you under the age of 16. But, if you want to go to some horrible excuse for a piercer who re-uses needles and doesn't use sterilized equipment then I am sure you can easily find a few places, but that's like asking to get Hepatitis..

6 to 8 weeks? Are you kidding?

Maybe if it's your EARS.

What they should have said was 6 to 8 MONTHS. And if they really did tell you 6 to 8 weeks, you should not go back to them for any other type of body modification. Ever.

I have 4 belly button piercings, and they all took at LEAST 8 months to completely heal. Sometimes about 10 months.

It took mine almost a year to heal. I suggest to continue keeping the area clean and dry at this point. Also use very little product on it, no twisting or excess movement of the ring. Mine progressed faster when I left it alone.

Is it infected? If it is, I would continue to do occasional sea salt soaks and if it gets worse, go to the doctor. If it is just a bump, leave it alone. Mine took a whole year before my bump disappeared. I also had a friend who had to take hers out because it never healed and kept getting infected. Some people's bodies just reject them. You also might want to ask your piercer about your bump-whether or not it looks like it is healing normally. A reputable one should be able to tell you and encourage you to go to a doctor if it looks bad.

maybe it could be a keloid. some people when they heal from wounds or cuts may scar with some keloids. they are just scars that are bumpy and darker than your skin. but if it keeps getting infected, then maybe you need to see a doctor. also, it helps if you don't wear tight fitting clothes, belts or pants over where you are pierced. get well soon!

sounds liek a kelooid to me.. adn navel piercings do not take 6 to 8 wweek.. maybe you misunderstood her. is can tke up to a yer to fully heal since there is so much motion wiht the piercin (since it its on your waist) but it does sound liek a keloid.. which is an overgrowh of scar tissue. some peopel can get them no matter how well they take care of their piercing.

but it was safe to change your jewelry.. tyou arent suuposed to change it for 3 to 4 months anyways.. be happy you didnt change it sooner!

but the piercing itself can take up to a year to heal.. mine is 7 months old and still healing as the jewelry is still gettign a bit crusty. lol

i've had something like that recently and my navel has been pierced for 5 years! Put your navel ring on upside down! Might sound stupid but the weight from the jeweled part will loosen the bubble and it will soon be easy to pick off

Noo. Don't use alcohol or any of that. Just keep cleaning it three times a day with salt water, and that should help.
Don't change it 'til it's healed, don't touch it or let anyone touch it unless there hands are washed, don't play with it because that will irritate it. Hope I helped!
