I've lost 20 lbs over the last couple months but even though I'm happy with my weight I still have that excess belly fat that hangs over when i sit down... how do i get rid of it?

There is no site specific way of losing fat... the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn't true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet.

Six-packs are 20% abdominal exercise and 80% diet. There is one caveat... abdominal muscles will form in the position that you work them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the "core is active" which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive.

You are welcome to look at my 360 Blog of September 10 for more suggestions.

Well done on the weight loss, that's great. If the flab is muscle you can tone it through exercise, sit ups might be a good one to try, though simple keeping your tummy muscles held in whilst going about your regular activities can help a lot. If it's stretched skin unfortunatly there isn't much you can do expect for surgery.

Well the best thing to do is crunches, probably about 200 a day. They will hurt like crazy but you'll have a six pack in about a month. However if you don't want that, just a flat stomach I would just do it for two weeks.

Good Luck and Good Job!!

Sit ups, crunches, pilates/yoga for the abs. You want to work your mid-section muscularly and tone it, and that should take care of most of it. Once you work it into muscles, though, don't be surprised if you have gained a few pounds in weight again. Muscle weighs more than fat.

Work out that part of your body. Your body will convert the fat to muscle and it will tone up and look nice.

Do situps, planks things like that.
