Forget about the habit and concentrate on the science... :) The chocolate fingers are usually cadbury's, but I guess that's unimportant, the coffee is always hot, but in getting sucked through about 3 inches of chocolate finger, it has not just cooled off, it's actually cold! Baffling...

is the choc finger out of the fridge? if it is then this is why the coffee is getting cold on the way throught the choc finger.

also as you are sucking there is little coffe coming through the choc finger and is getting cooled by the air.

but if you dont have a cold choc finger out of the fridge then wouldnt the choc melt on your fingers before you get round to sucking the coffee through?
