Major weight reduction- that beast i know is in the 2750-3300 range- Air intake system with a cone filter will help the bottum end,
Thinner oil will help just a little. Pacesetter makes a pretty cheap exhaust system- they are around 300 bucks for the whole system.
And then there is N.O.S- just dont pop it!

While NOS systems are relatively cheap, do not forget to factor in the costs associated with prepping your engine for such a setup. You will have to throw in, among other things, a brand new high capacity fuel pump, a fuel filter, and possibly a top overhaul.

To me, the cheapest (and safest) route to go about this is to ensure that your car's engine is working as it should. I mean it's not enough that you know how many horses your car has. The big question is.... are all of your horses healthy?

See the pedal nearest the drivers door push it down when the car is on and in gear.lol
But realy It depends how fast you wana go if you wana travel back in time then a flux copasitor moght be a good buy or on the other hand a complete engine flush and some upgraded parts like cam pullys,Turbos, new intercooler etc...etc...
And stay of the NOS as if your engine is still standard then it WILL blow up unless new parts as mentioned are installed.
Or you could buy a MKIV TT like mine.

Fill up your tank with 91 octane and then go to pep boys and buy those octane boosters. They range anywhere from $5 to $50 but if it's a cheap fix in acceleration you want, that is the way to go. The only con is if you want your car to maintain that performance, you'll have to buy octane booster everytime you fill up your tank.
