Your ignorance saddens me. Please educate yourself about this disease. You or your child cannot catch it from casual contact, so as long as you don't have any body fluid contact (through having sex or blood to blood contact) then you will be safe.

i am sure your neighbor knows the seriousness behind the liver disease hepatitis b. do you really think that people go around putting others lives at risk? no. he is probably more paranoid giving anyone the disease than that of the circumstances that lead you to this board. I am without a doubt almost 100% certain that this man knows what it's like living with disease and knows what steps to take so no other would get the disease.
i had hcv and there is a lot of stigma that goes with the disease. mine however, it only acquired through blood only, not other bodily fluids.
even so, when i was active i took others feelings to heart and just in case, made sure no one even drank after me. (even though you cant catch it that way).
as for the vaccine reaction your son had? i would certainly have him tested for hepatitis b as the vaccine is active, but altered hbv-it could be your son could of actually acquired hepatitis b through the vaccine. (just like the flu shots...some people get the flu from the shot) the welts and rash you describe can happen with liver disease.
it would be very difficult to acquire HBV via kissing on the cheek, infact, more like impossible.
last but not least, when in doubt always ask your doctor and ask questions! the more you know about hepatitis b, the more you can learn from it!

Ok the only way to catch something like heop B is to have contact with bodily fluids. If you don't have contact with fluids then you WILL BE SAFE. Your Neighbor is probably feeling sad because of it. You can hug him/her and still not have contracted the disease. The same goes for HIV you can catch HIV by just hugging some one unless you all have open sores. Then you should look out for your son and if he has any open sores use the bandaid liquid bandage and allow him to play with the little girl. If the virus can't get into your body then it can't infect you. Also make sure you teach him not to put things in his mouth in case you were to let him go to their house because if Hep B is on an object he put in his mouth then he has contracted it probably. And even if you do come in contact with the disease you still have a possiblity of not contracting it.

Understand and respect your question. I am a parent too.
Well the point is I am divorced and I don't know how and why I got Hep B. I am not dating anyone until I am sure I am completely clear with Hep. However, I am human and I need to live my life like anyone else. I am not saying to expose others to the disease but we are all human and I am not trying to find who I can blame for what I got. I am educating my self to avoid any further damage or to hurt someone else. The last thing I would ever think about is to avoid anyone. Love and support cure any disease if you know what I mean.
I just hope you can educate you self towards the subject and try not to avoid but support and help.
Good lock

Hepatitis B has almost the same mode of transmission as AIDS. Through exposure to blood and blood products as well as from intercourse. Theoretically, also from other bodily fluids like tears, saliva, etc but have not heard or read of any case wherein Hepatitis B was transmitted through tears and saliva. You will not get Hepatitis B from shaking hands or kissing cheeks with your neighbor. Your neighbor swill not spread the virus in your house if you let them enter unless they bleed all over your house. I do not think you need to have yourself and your son tested but for your peace of mind maybe you should.

The hepatitis B virus is spread from one man or woman to a special by body fluids, at the same time with blood, semen, and vaginal fluids (at the same time with menstrual blood). contact with a body fluid can take position from sexual contact, sharing needles or different equipment (at the same time with cotton, spoons, and water) to inject unlawful drugs, coping with blood or instruments used to appeal to blood, sharing razors or toothbrushes, and getting tattoos or body piercings with needles that were no longer good wiped clean. The virus also might want to be exceeded from a mom to her newborn infant for the time of shipping (perinatal transmission). Its going to be really puzzling to get it from talking to to someone. maximum human beings get the accute version besides. you've gotten had it and in no way understand. Its okay to opt for to guard your infant, yet your slightly over board dont you imagine. only teach your self.
