The mom's have been determined to use meth. One mom gave up the child--4th time thru rehab. The other mom- meth/amphtemine/thc tested positive...also 8 month old has suffered a fractured skull. DHR in ALA has given the kids back to the moms....do they have to be hurt again at the hands of the moms before something is done...what can a dad on disability do?

What can one do when the lawyer's arent' doing anything and dhr has given the custody back to the moms. What other agency can you report dhr to? Who else would you report the child abuse to? DHR wants the moms to have the kids. The kids have asthma and rsv..not supposed to be around anyone who smokes..yet both moms smoke and their families smokes and they get the kids back.

You should be able to file an order for temporary emergency custody...

You might also check into applying for Legal Aid. It is my understanding that you are the grandparent, so I don't know if you would be able to intervene... but surely a dad on disability would qualify for assistance. IMO, it would definitely be worth a try.

I am going through the same thing as you except it is my kids dad who uses and deals. We are going through a huge court battle. My kids are 6 and 5. I took them from him over a year ago and the judge gave them back. We were both ordered to take drug test by 5 pm on the same day and I went directly over to the place he never showed. He also lives in a 1 bedroom house with 3 adult and 5 kids. What I would suggest is turn her in to Dhs. Be sure and tell them that you are in fear for your kids. They have to go investigate. Just because you are disabled doesn't mean you can't support them. We need to chat feel free to e-mail me at alilkntrygal27@yahoo.com Good Luck.

Call Child Protective Services. She needs to pass many tests before she gets the kids back.

I think it is just SICK that people who use drugs like meth are allowed to have their children back. I knew a woman who had a beautiful baby girl and they took her daughter away. Reason: the baby had more drugs in her system than mom. Apparently, she would have a few people over and they would take the baby in the bathroom while they smoked meth. I think women who use drugs should have to prove for a long time that they are clean before their children are given back. A dad on disabililty doesn't have a chance in our screwed up system in my opinion.

Yes it would be child endangerment. I would think you could report the government agency that did so to another government agency. Maybe they would destroy each other, and we could have a little freedom, and you would get custody of the kids.

You can fight for custody. Or see if you have trustworthy family who would.

Atleast file cases against the mother of child endangerment and neglect. Something has to be done for these kids.

Don't you dare use your being on disability to make an excuse of why you can't do anything!!! YOU could get custody of the child/children! So I ask you, DO THE MOTHERS HAVE TO HURT THE CHILDREN AGAIN BEFORE "YOU" DO SOMETHING???

I TOO KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. MY STEP-SON LIVES WITH HIS MOTHER AND SHE IS MARRIED TO AN ABUSER. HE HAS ABUSED EVERYONE IN THE HOME MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY. RECENTLY WE CHECKED INTO GETTING CUSTODY AND REGARDLESS OF THE CHILD BEING IN DANGER HE HAS TO LIVE WITH ABUSE UNLESS WE PAY SOME LAWYER $2000 THAT WE DON'T HAVE

toddlers are a lot too useful to be put in the fingers of someone who's this irresponsible. If the mummy would not understand the thanks to take care herself, she genuinely can't seem after toddlers.
