Of Course we would.

If some other nation decided to that we were an evil country for invading Iraq and decided to come in and overthrow our Govt and change it to there way of Govt. There would be millions upon millions of Americans fighting them on the streets.

Just like they are fighting us in Iraq.

If the US were ruled by a dictator and another country came in and allowed us to vote on what we wanted for a Constitution and who we wanted to govern us - would you fight?

The people fighting us in Iraq are the people who lost the UN certified elections. They are fighting for the chance to become dictators.

Of course Americans would fight back. I understand that you're using this as an example for whats going on in Iraq, but the problem is that it's not the Iraqis who are doing the fighting. It would be like someone invading the United States and beating us and then having Canadians and Mexicans coming over the border and acting as insurgents.

If your countrys citizens did fight back it would be catastrophic for your country. A well trained proffdesional army would be to much for armed citizens or militia. The best way would be how britain prepared for german invasion and to have resistance groups hidden away waiting to strike when the time was right. Make life difficult and train the men who you put your trust in as no invasion just happens these days. There is always a warning so theres time to prepare for the off chance thatyour military will fail. Then its down to trained resistance soldiers and should never be left to civilians with no training as they would just get killed.

It would be a good thing if the citizenry took arms to preserve this country . In Iraq they are fighting each other not the US.(the ones that attack the US are usually from Syria , Iran , and Saudi Arabia)
They don't really like us being there ,but most are glad that Saddam is no longer in power. The problem is that they can't agree on anything . (Shia-Sunni-Kurds) If they would actually learn for themselves what is happening as opposed to listening to radical terrorist propeganda , there would not be half the amount of trouble happening .

Uh, wrong. Not the same at all.

On the one hand, you have a tyranny, where the minority 30% are keeping the majority 70% repressed. Where the dictator has childrens prisons, rape rooms, torture chambers, executes people with industrial shredders, and murdered several hundred thousand people at the minimum, and had evern used WMD on people in his own country.

If you would fight to support that, that is what the insurgents had been doing.

Your scenario is flawed and does not correspond to Iraq at all.

I don't think most would, because the United States IS being invaded, and too many citizens look down on those who dare not be tolerant of that. So no, the citizens by and large are most definitely NOT fighting back.

Unfortunately I don't have a handy stockpile of AK-47s and high explosives in my neighborhood. Nor do I have a religious fanaticism that compels me to murder.

But yes, if the Canadians invaded tomorrow, I would be on the barricades throwing proper bacon (not that abominable round stuff) at their soldiers.

I guess if that ever happens, it would be China and we wouldn't stand a chance. China could afford to lose a couple of huge cities' worth of people if that's what it took to kick our arses. Since the USSR collapsed, the USA has been the only world superpower. But China is on its way to becoming a superpower and will eventually surpass the United States in that regard, thanks to GWB making the world hate us more than it hated Red China.

We already have almost no power over China. We tried to boss them about Taiwan, they told us to butt out -- and we did. All the Americans freaking out over Mexicans singing the national anthem in Spanish ought to be worried about their grandkids being forced to speak Chinese.

The Liberals would not. They would welcome the "Visitors" and try to understand them. They would tell us that we have to be tolerant and accept them as our brothers. The conservatives would keep us from getting run over then the Democrats would scream unfair that we killed them because they were different.
So no we would not all fight. ONly those of us with common sence.
