Since I can't rmember my own, and I assume most can't, I've always wondered what actually goes through the mind of a newborn during the process of birth, especially since no verbal skills have been developed yet. Is it traumatic, or does the trauma only come with the cold, light, noise, and the doctor's cruel slap? Is it peaceful? Does a vaginal delivery affect the child more violently than a Cesarean delivery? What do you think?

Okay, for the younger and more sensitive viewers, please replace "doctor's cruel slap" to "doctor's awakening tap". Sheesh!

I would love to know what goes through a baby's mind throughout the birth. I think it would be very helpful to future parents.

It's obvious that no one can remember their own birth and i've never seen a doctor slap a baby on the butt either, after the mouth is suctioned out is when the baby cries for the first time. I'm sure vaginal delivery does not affect the baby in a harmful way or a cesarean birth and i hear that vaginal deliveries have less risks to the baby and the mother. Personally i think this question is a little weird and makes no point.

that would be traumatic for an individual to remember. Thats, why when we experience something horrific or work graphic, our body goes into shock and we are unable to remember the events clearly.

I have a question for you though: What if a child inherited his parents memories at birth and so on...and with every birth the child remembers the past of the parents.

it is really funny when you think about it,how you can try so hard to remember as far back as you can but cant remember being born or being a baby you hear stories from your parents but it's all a blank in your head i guess maybe are brains are not developed enough at those small ages to remember any of it i look at my daughter who just turned 2 and it's wierd how everything she says and does right now she most likely wont remember but it would be cool to remember lol!!

I don't think I would want to know. But I did have a mirror in front of me when I gave birth to my son, it was the best thing I've seen in my entire life. If he ever wants to know how it was like, I can gladly tell him. LOL

I dont think they would know anymore about what's going on than what they knew inside the womb the whole 9 months.
