A few years ago my little brother had a border that was kinda like I-Spy, and it had all the letters of the alphabet in different colors. Strewn across the border were planes, plastic dinosaurs, cars, and stuff like that. It was on a light blue wall, and it was SO cute!

If you have a Dollar Tree store in your area go there. They have posters that have the alphabet in it with pictures. My mom got one for my son's 2nd birthday in Aug and it was a 2 pack. The other poster is numbers with pictures. My son is 2 1/2 now and can recognize several letters and numbers now from us using these posters.

home depot has awesome abc and 123 border.. then they also have this paint you can put on a small part of the wall.. underneath the border that is like a chalkboard.. it was an awesome set up.. and i wanted to do it for daughter so bad.. they show it on extreme home makeover too.. anyhow.. you can put up chalk holders on the wall too so it is accessable.. it is so cute..and he can practice what he sees on the border.. he will be ready for preschool knowing his abc''s and 123's

ELMO, Dora The Explorer ( even boys like that), Big Bird, Cookie Monster, just make it colorful and vibrant with numbers and letters.

make it themed like outer space, and paint the planets on the walls orbiting round the sun, and stuff
