If you picked up a recent best seller and read accounts of people being raised from the dead, walking on water, or the earth ceasing to rotate would you think that the book was fiction or non-fiction.

In most cases, you believe only that which you were taught to believe. Religion is an accident of birth, wherever you were born, that is where you were indoctrinated (brainwashed).
Should you have been born in Afghanistan, you would not believe anything Christian. Matter of fact, you would probably have a hatred for christians.

You don't believe everything you read in books. If those things were actually happening, as they were in biblical times, that would prove the Bible true.

It is easier to believe the Bible today due to advance of modern science.
There are shoes or sandals that allow people to walk on water, not saying Jesus wore them
The virgin birth? it's very possible today.
miracles of health? miracles are being performed in hospitals every day.
Maybe Jesus knew more than you give him credit for.

The earth ceasing to rotate? Sorry, don't remember that account in the Bible.

Even 100 years ago, christians had to take the word of God purely on faith. Today, science has proved that many things taught in the Bible are true. The flood, as one example.

There is no such a book which is as factual as the bible in relating those miracles and wonders. Any books which contain the stories about miracles and wonders being performed must stand up to investigation and queried as what have been done with the stories contained in the bible. The bible survives all these grueling interrogations or queries or ridicules.

The reason I believe the Bible is true is because other non- religious accounts have been written about the same events. The only difference is why they were written. And the Bible has been proven as historically accurate... But, many believe "The DaVinci Code" even though the author said it was pure fiction.

No, I wouldn't believe a word. Three characters, the Father, Jesus & the Holy Spirit, make the differece for me.

Sure, there's another book similar to it that has sold literally tens of millions of copies over its 100+ year run so far. I believe it and so do plenty of other people. The Book of Mormon.

If the book was as historically reliable as those in the bible then I guess the reasonable thing to do would be to believe. (see source)

It depends on who it was written by.
Why is there one you suggest? If you can show me one that is written by true prophets of God, accepted by billions as truth, stood the test of time and number of critics of the bible such as yourself, ya I'll give fair consideration. Will you?
