Well, here I am sitting at my computer surfing Yahoo! Answers instead of making the effort to use my brand new gym membership (sloth). It makes me really angry that I'm so ill-disciplined (wrath). I wish I could be like that superfit jogger I can see running past my window (envy), the fit ****** (oh, there's wrath again).

At least I actually made the effort and joined the gym (pride). They had a special money back offer on for New Year's so i could save my hard-earned pennies (greed). Mind you, last time I went... erm, some of the women there... wow... I mean, wow (lust, lust, lust). Though they've probably all got superfit boyfriends (envy, wrath, wrath, envy).

Damn, I feel terrible now. I need some chocolate. (gluttony).

Sin is a religious concept, so, as a Humanist, I don't generally use the term, but setting that aside, I'd have to say I've been "guilty" of all of the "deadly sins."

Sloth and gluttony are among my greatest personal challenges. As a Humanist, I believe one should make the best use of the precious time we have, but I often waste time in less than important pursuits. Sometimes it is to help me relax, which isn't a bad thing, but mostly it's because I don't make a strong enough effort to find better uses for my time. I'm working on it.

Having a normal pride in one's accomplishments or the accomplishments of one's children, grandchildren, other family members, or countrymen is not a bad thing; only excessive pride (hubris) is likely to be detrimental. Lust, envy, and wrath aren't serious issues for me at this stage of my life.

Well...

I lust after my boyfriend when he's being really adorable, I am very proud of my accomplishments because they're usually quite hard won, I envy my friends who have nicer noses than I do (I've always hated my nose), on Saturdays I like to lounge around the house and not do anything if I don't have to, and when I'm at a party I nearly always overeat.

Which leaves out wrath and greed. So 5.

I have to say that, like you, I've experienced all of them to varying degrees and therefore have a capacity to understand all of them. But I have also found a way to completely reject all of them. This is what the truly religious person would call repentence. Or what the secular humanist would call plain common sense. Does that mean I am free of them and from guilt and feelings of guilt? That would make for another question for Yahoo! Answers. I do feel innocence. But then, I still see others who suffer from these seven deadlies. In some cases, I feel helpless to help these people and I have found that these people can still influence my life. So even though I have rejected these seven sins, I can still be affected indirectly by others who are suffering.

no poison for me, thanks.

I've experienced all of these emotions except for wrath(I'm pretty laid back). But none of these are deadly sins, they are just part of the range of emotions which humans can and often experience,. The church was what assigned them as deadly. (former catholic)

If given the chance, I'd be guilty of nearly all of them. But mostly, I'm guilty of lust.

I hardly ever feel envy toward other people though.
