my mom insists my 4 yo daughter needs a passport as of some new law passed 01/07/07. please only answer this if you for SURE know what you are talking about...

Passports are for INTERNATIONAL travel only. Your mother is wrong.

If you're flying entirely within the United States, photo ID is enough. And since they're under 16, even that is optional though it's good to have some proof of identity. You only need a passport to cross the border; once you're inside, the rules are less rigid.

Their birthcertificate is sufficient enough. But if you are traveling out of the country you need a passport for the children if you are not married to their father there is a form on the passport websit claiming you are the sole guardian and it has to be notorized. Due to kidnappings cases . The forms and information can be found on UnitedStates passport website.

As long as you are traveling within the US you do not need a passport, it is only required for International Travel.

For domestic flight, a US citizen does not need a passport. You may need some form of identification, her birth certificate should do.

you dont need a passport to fly inside the united states shuch as from new oyrk to georgia. but you do need one to fly internationally such as from atlanta, georgia to paris france. and i dont think you need and i.d untill you are 18 to boared a plane.
