If you are in Singapore, nope, you cannot.
Not only you cannot claim tax rebates for your girlfriend, you may have difficulties in terms of getting tax rebates on your baby.

The answers above me are the number one reason that taxpayers should get a tax professional to do their returns if they have any questions. Yes, you can claim your girlfriend because she had no income in 2006 and wasn't supporting herself at all. You can file head of household and claim your girlfriend and baby as dependents.
As long as you and your girlfriend's relationship doesn't violate the law. Example: She's 15 and your 32.

Yes, if she lived with you all year, you provided more than half of her support, and she didn't make over $3300, you can claim her. She would not qualify you for head of household filing status though.
You can also claim the baby if she was born in 2006. Since she is your biological daughter, she would qualify you for head of household, so you can file that way.
This fairly basic question is one of the questions that seems to get the most wrong answers here on Yahoo Answers.

You can claim the baby. Not her. She is not legally your dependent.
