Sleeping in boxers in no more offensive than having a male or female see you in a swim suit, in my opinion.

I am curious as to what would "require" you to sleep with someone?

Be comfortable with the boxers!

If you are sharing sleeping quarters with a guy you should wear some jogging pants and a t-shirt so therefore you want be revealing to much skin. You might not know if the guy your sleeping next to is straight. And it would really be messed up if you have a hard on and its sticking through the pee hole of your boxers. And for a girl if it is a girl you don't dig, then wear the jogging pants and t-shirt. If it is a friend girl that you dig then wear the boxers or jogging pants without shirt.

Begin by breaking the ice by saying, "I need to tell you that I always sleep in the nude". Then no matter what you decide to wear, it's a step up. I was in your situation about a year ago. I was required to take a trip with three other men. We stayed in a hotel room with two queen beds. We all slept barefoot in t-shirts and boxers. Once, during the night, the guy I was sleeping with turned over and our legs touched. We both jumped, then laughed it off. If I were sleeping with a girl, I would wear sleep pants and a t-shirt just to show her some respect, rather than requiring her to see me in my underwear.

Personally, I think that shorts are fine. You're covering your "private" areas and its what you would wear if you were at the beach. If either friend has an issue and would like you to wear a shirt, I would comply, but many people won't really care.

First, you are obviously not a straight male.

If you WERE a straight male, you would:

Do ANYTHING in your power to avoid sleeping in the same bed with another guy. You'd first sleep on the floor, sofa, wherever. You wouldn't PLAN to sleep in the same bed with another guy, ever.

And you definitely would not be worried about how littlel to wear.
