What works for me is to have an apple or a piece of fruit and if I still crave it afterwards I'll have it - but 95% of the time i don't want it then!

Your chocolate cravings will diminish as time goes by. It takes about a week or two for the cravings to stop. You just have to quit cold turkey. Try rewarding yourself with something everyday that you don't eat sweets. Go buy something like a book or an article of clothing.
the urges will go away.

There's no reason why you cant satisfy the craving with a little piece of chocolate---that's why I have a bag of dark chocolate M&M's in my drawer---I have 3 or 4, savor them, and then put the bag back.
I DO NOT eat the WHOLE BAG!
