The Mythology of heaven and hell suggests hell as a place of fire and heaven as a place of worship. SO- drawing from this information, could it be that god keeps his most devoted followers as pets… and cooks the rest in hell to prepare for edible means? Would that explain why there are so many anachronisms and contradictions in the bible- he wants us to go to hell because to him, we’re delicious?

Satan doesn't hate us... he hates his job. As Jesus' personal chef.

Oh, BTW I wouldn't be cajun or bbq... definitely buffalo.

M'lady- actually, i've read and reread the bible. I rejected it, but there is nothing in there to suggest that my joke was untrue... and it does make a good case for motivation- I'm actually surprised that more Christians aren't joining in the fun (mainworry aside... his sense of humor seems to be limited by his cut and paste biblical studies book). I'm sure a "forgiving father" would find equal humor... if he existed.
I.E. This WAS supposed to be funny.

Well if you read Job by Robert A. Heinlein, his view of Heaven and Hell is quite entertaining.

God is a stuffy jerk who only wants to be worshiped. Heaven is boring and annoying.

Hell is a non-stop party, and Lucifer is sociable and generally fun loving.

Well worth reading, Heinlein gets far deeper than that including all the gods, including Odin! He also includes the god the gods report to. Myth can make great modern fiction.

LOL!!!!

I must admit your reasoning of things made me laugh. But Mythology was made to explain to narrow-minds of early ages with symbolisms they could understand how good or bad things can turn if you harm or help others.
Heaven and hell are both here on earth. The joy that causes you to do good to someone else, that's heaven. The grief that causes you to know you wronged someone, or allowed something bad to happen because you didn't have the courage to make the difference, that's hell.

I know your purpose is to flame Christians because you feel is fun, but I also sense some sort of ignorance behind the question.

Have a nice day. :)

The people who wrote the Bible knew that "fire" was powerful symbolism. The burning bush, the whole flames of Hell thing. Fire scares people, nobody wants to burn, you can't get too close to fire. That's why they used fire, to make a psychological impact upon primitive people who worshipped it, and that is why "witches" were burned at the stake. It's the Christian weapon of choice, and that's why I believe that the central message of Christianity is "Believe or Burn".

LOL. Never thought of that. I did see a picture one time on the net of "God" eating people. I couldn't help but have flashbacks.

yea, right, sure.

Study to show thyself approved.
HELL IN KJV
One Hebrew word “sheol” is rendered hell. Definition; hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranian retreat), grave, hell, pit. Three Greek words are rendered hell; geenna, hades, and tartaroo. Definition of geenna; a valley of Jerusalem, used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment: - hell. Definition of hades; properly unseen, that is, “Hades” or the place (state) of departed souls: - grave, hell. Definition of tartaroo; (the deepest abyss of Hades); to incarcerate in eternal torment: - cast down to hell. Tartaroo is used only one place II Pet.2:4.
Christ teaching the Pharisees in Luke 16:19-31 shows us a separation from God is truly what hell is. The “water” is symbolic for God’s Spirit and love. The word “tormented” means distressed in the Greek, not torture. The “fire” is symbolic for the shame and desire not to be separated from God.
So all who die the first death of the flesh return to God Ecc.12:6-7, but on which side of the gulf do they end up?
Hell is not eternal but is done away with in Rev.20:14-15, called both the second death and lake of fire. This second death is non-existence, for death and hell and those not written in the book of life. This second death or lake of fire is like fat drippings that fall into the fire. Just a poof of smoke into non-existence.
Psa.37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
In my mind what’s worse yet is no memory of you, no tears will be shed for you like you never existed.
Rev.21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
So hell is a separation from God and is not eternal torture or burning. Eventually hell will be done away with or passed away and also some souls. Like fat drippings in the fire, a poof of smoke into non-existence, the second death.
