I haven't used them, but definitely would. All Tesco products are excellent value for money.

As for not spending less than £50, well some people are obviously much better off than me...

I haven't, but I bought a pink pair from Ethel Austins (also available in black) for £10 and I would defininitely recommend those.
As for the answer about straighteners are rubbish if under £50, I'm sure most people have better things to spend £50+ on than straighteners. GHDs are so expensive and I've heard of a couple of cases where they have caught fire so I'd say they weren't worth the money.

If they're Teflon plated and ceramic then they should be fine. I agree if your hair is thicker it will be better but you should always wear a heat protection spray anyway. I'd say try them cos if you have to throw them out then just think £10s only the price of 3drinks on a Saturday night. GHD prices are crazy!

I've never used them, but a friend has and they worked quite well on her hair, it depends on how thick/ strong your hair is though. My friend has quite thick hair so they're quite good.
Just because they aren't GHD, doesn't mean they'll be useless.
I would recommend as long as your hair isn't really thick and curly, maybe only lightweight straightening.

my partner had the expensive GHD ones and they caught fire, she then bought some some semi expensive Babyliss ones and she got electrocuted.

Then she got some from tesco's and they've been good for a year now so yes!

a hair straightener for 9.99? who would use that?
a chi works way better... let me tell ya that if there is a straightner
for less than 50.00... it is cheap and they hardly have a warranty on them
I recommend the chii straight iron... it works way better than any other straightener
