If you are a Schedule C filer, sales tax is part of the cost of doing business and thus reduces your overall profits.

If you are a Schedule A filer, you can deduct sales tax. Since FL doesn't have income tax, you can deduct sales tax on Schedule A. IRS has a standard table for sales tax deduction. If you have all the receipts to prove that you had paid more sales tax than what the table says, you get to deduct the actual amount.
