I bought a camera and got a 128mb SD card with it. When I try to use it in the camera it says the card is not formatted for the camera. Does anyone know if there is a way to format the card or if I'm doing something wrong?

the most of the times if a easy process, the camera, (dont know what kind is) has an icon on the menu to format, just following the steps would do it, the disk like an old floppy , has to create the tracks first in order to start recording

There should be an option on the camera to format the card when it is installed in the camera.
Look on the camera menu for "options" or "settings" and try to find a "format" menu.
From there the camera should be able to format it's own card.

with the card in your camera, press the menu button, now somewhere in settings, will be the option to format. that will solve all your problems

It's called comon sense! All new cameras come with a MANUAL. I suggest you read it...look up 'formatting the memory card' in the INDEX.

on the camera
go into menu
find format
it may be near the end of the list
or your camera may say setup
that is where you will find it
highlight and enter
all done

i agree with the suggestions given by all. in the menu look for format and do the formating.if it does not work you may also test it on card reader and do the formating or go to nearest dealer and seek their help.
