I've got a recipe that calls for 6 large egg whites...never used egg beaters before...are they good for recipes like this? Does the box have a measurement on it letting me know how much is 6 egg whites? Are they expensive?

Egg Beaters contain egg whites plus added nutrients to make up for the nutrients lost when the yolk is removed. Beta carotene is one of the nutrients added, giving the egg whites a yellow color to resemble whole scrambled eggs.

If your recipe is calling for egg whites Egg Beaters will work. Just follow the measurements on the carton. However, since the Egg Beaters are yellow, it may change the color of the finished product. Usually it won't make a difference, but if you're making a white cake (or something else light or white in color), the Egg Beaters would make it off-white or yellow.

Egg beaters are an excellent substitute. They even have an egg whites one. Usually 1/4 cup = 1 egg, but it will say on the side of the package. Not expensive at all.

Egg beaters are good no matter what you put them in. The box does have a measurement conversion for you and they're not expensive.

It depends on what you need it for. Eggbeaters is an egg white and yolk substitute, so if you only need the whites, you probably cant use Eggbeaters. There should be a measurement on the box to tell you how much equals 1 egg, and it is also expensive if you compare the price to what you pay for regular eggs. If your concern is cholesterol, the cholesterol is in the yolk, which you arent using in the recipe.
