I am wondering where you found your information?? I don't have any scientific studies or anything, but................my divorced girlfriend friend has two boys. My divorced brother has a boy. Another divorced girlfriend has a boy. My divorced neighbor has 3 boys. I'm sure if I thought longer I could come up with many more. And good sex produces boys?? I'm guessing that was a man with a big gender ego came up with that theory. To up your chances of having a baby boy......................pray real hard. Or adopt..........then you can be sure of getting a boy. :)

The "quality" of the sex has nothing to do with the gender of a child. Gender depends on the "sex" chromosome donated by the male's sperm. A boy can only be produced if the sperm that fertilizes an egg contains the Y chromosome (which controls testosterone production primarily). If you want to make sure you have a boy, go talk to a fertilization specialist about in vitro fertilization. Then they'll implant a fertilized egg which was fertilized by a "male" sperm cell.
As for the preponderance of girls v. boys in families, male sperm cells tend to be less viable in the vaginal canal. Also, male zygotes are often more prone to heritable genetic disease, since they have no second X chromosome to counterbalance these maladies. Many stillborns or natural abortions are male zygotes. Their rate of survival seems to be lower in prenatal stages.

omg where are people getting your sex education? The female egg has an x chromosome. The male sperm contain either an x or y chromosome. The quality of the sex a woman has has nothing to do with the baby's outcome since her egg will always be x. The chances rest on the male's sperm and that doesn't have anything to do with whether or not it's good sex or not. If the male partner has normal sperm production and sperm count, the chances of a male child are 50%. There are conditions where a male may produce more y chromosome sperm or x chromosome sperm, but those conditions are rare.

Actually it's a result of the sperm having an XY chromosome. I doubt an orgasm would push a certain sperm to the egg faster. I think your source is pretty bad. Genetics come in to play a lot. Like if you have a lot of brothers or more uncles than aunts. But other than that there's not much you can do. So don't try any crazy things you read. It's all chance.

Actually, I've read the opposite...that the acidic nature of the vagina actually kills off more Y sperm after an orgasm, however the contractions of the orgasm pull the sperm in. Supposedly, Y (male) sperm are faster but die more easily, and X sperm (female) live longer and are more hearty, but are slower. There is a whole bunch of research about when to have sex, what positions are best, female orgasms ect. It is called the Shettles Method... I don't think it's foolproof, but I suppose there might be some logic to it.

Boys are a result of receiving the Y chromosome from dad. That's it. You can't up your chances of having a boy, although some studies have said that slightly acidic medium encourages Y sperm to reach the egg better.
I'm interested in seeing links for your divorced people/girls claim. Do you have any resources, or is it personal observation?

No, it's not true. That's about the funniest thing I ever heard. I get Os regularly and I have children of both genders.
If you want to up your chances of having a boy, find out when you ovulate. Have sex a couple of days before ovulation, but not on the day of. Boy sperms are slower swimmers. They take longer to get to the egg.

NO it is not true. The male sperm makes that choice. It has nothing to do with good or bad sex. They do say that the position you are in may effect the sex of the child. The closer the male ejaculates to the eggs the better the chance you will have a male. The female sperm is stronger and can swim further.

All eggs in the female carry the X chromosome. If the sperm adds the Y chromosome then the resuly is a boy (XY). If the sperm carries an X chromosome the result is a female (XX). I don't believe that there are people (mothers even) on here telling you it's the egg that decides. Shame on you for GUESSING.

There is almost always an equal percentage chance for either sex. However, statistically, there are 53% female to 47% male ratio population world wide.
The quality of the sex is not a factor in the baby's sex determination.
