Salvation does not cost us anything. When offered, we either receive it willingly or reject it.

Salvation costs us nothing in comparison to what it cost the Father. It cost Him everything, His only Son. Salvation is a free gift for us, but costly to both the Father and the Son.

If I understand your question correctly, why does salvation cost you your current lifestyle? Precisely because when you are truly saved, it stands to reason that your life has undergone a change and you are no longer the type of creation you were prior to salvation. In addition, whatever brings you pleasure now, when you are truly saved, God replaces all the things you think you lose in the process of salvation with better, lasting things that you did not have before (peace, true love, joy, patience, self control, etc.)

Paul addressed this when he wrote: "Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ" (Phil. 3:8)

Think about it this way- salvation is free- it cost Jesus everything- He laid aside His divinity to become a man, to die for our sins. the pain He endured was excruciating. What did it cost us? Accepting Him- once we do their could not be enough that we sacrifice for Him. It cost me my pride. And that is ok with me. Everything on this earth I consider loss for the greatness of knowing Jesus Christ my Lord.

well you came into this world with nothing and you are leaving with nothing. but many can leave with the salvation of Christ. This enables us to be eternal w/ The Lord. How does salvation cost you everything? It has cost me nothing other than if I had no salvation I would have eternal damnation away from the Lord.

Salvation is free. Jesus paid the cost for that. The cost of being a follower of Christ and living as he ordained is that we are held to a higher standard and we must be willing to fulfill His purpose on earth. While doing that, we still live our lives, have families, friends, jobs, cars, parties, vacations, etc. What of real value are you losing by giving your life to Christ?

What makes you think it cost us everything?
It cost Jesus everything to give it.
We didnt lose anything in receiving it.
unless you consider sinful lust and worldly pleasure "everything"

If you think perhaps that Christianity is boring, well..
Then you haven't experienced it. No one who is a Christian will ever say that it is boring.
How do you know? Have you tried it? There are millions of Christians who have a lot of fun being Christian. We just do it with a lot less sin, and therefore, a lot less problems. Maybe it's only your problems that keep you from getting bored.
What do you think we do all day, sit around fireplaces and read Bibles? We ski, swim, play sports, read, have friends and problems like anybody else. Christianity is not boring. It is an adventure.

The Lord Jesus came into this world to die for our sins… If you believe that Jesus paid the price for your sins you can accept His gift of eternal life. You see it’s like having a bank account with lots of money in it; if you don’t know that that money is there for you and you never withdraw it, you won’t get a dime! Same with salvation. Yes, it is a free gift. But you have to receive it.

What makes you think it's a free gift? Salvation (in the Christian sense) comes with strings attached. That isn't free.

You don't pay anything for it.
No money has ever left my hand for it.
I haven't given any cars or appliances or houses or even pets.
All you have to do to get salvation is believe in His son.
You can keep all your money, and even never talk about Jesus to anybody and you will have salvation.

Cost you everything? All you have to do is accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. How exactly is that everything? I have a family, friends still go out and have fun. What are you saying?

If you mean giving up certain things like lifestyle or my willful self .... I can't speak for everyone, but for me, it wasn't worth holding on to.
