been getting to bed at like 3am or 5am. I have bipolar so its probably a manic moment coming on. Anyway I was warming up my car this morning and I was thinking to myself (uh oh)... and I think I havent accepted the fact that I have bipolar. I keep fighting it thinking its some sort of joke or punishment. I think that maybe since Im younger its just a hormonal thing. It insults me when I have to go to a doctor and who I am is summed up in a list of questions. < Have you been sleepin well? Do you feel you are on top of the world? etc etc> I just feel boring when someone asks me the same questions and they feel they can deduce what is going on. There is always more to anyone people are beautiful like that. Wow i rambled ok well the question is has anyone else accepted the fact they are bipolar?

I exactly understand how you feel!! I am bipolar too and I am only 20 years old. I had bipolar for long time as long I can remeber because my mom is bipolar too. I am good person but when I get manic moment that I can all of sudden dress up really hot and want all attention from the world and I do other stupid things without thinking and have hard time falling a sleep. But when I get depress that I didn't want to anything at all and get very moody. But when I feel normal then Im normal again. I hate that and I don't have treatment because I still don't believe myself and Im trying to fight myself to get heal. Only way I can heal myself is pray to the Lord! TO help me go sleep that I drink camole tea, I am not sure how to spell it or sometime I drink one or two cup of old english beer and it work good. But don't drink every night because you can develop habit that you can't sleep without a beer. If you want share with me and I will share with you then feel free to email me at jessibee2@yahoo.com because I would like to share with you because I don't know any other bi polar friends or anyone to support me because I feel like im the only one who have it.

Not sleeping well can be due to stress and depression. You've had a lot going on lately, so it could be like temporary insomnia, where you've just got so many thoughts buzzing around your head that your mind goes mad, stopping you from sleeping. don't worry about it, though it can be annoying (woke up at 3am this morning for no reason, though am quite stressed and depressed lately so thats probably why) if it continues for a long time then go to your doc, as you may have insomnia, though at the mo, as you said, it does sound just like stress. think calm....... a nice warm bubbly bath before bed, and a warm, milky (NOT chocolatey) drink may help. Good luck hun, hope you can sleep well soon!

I understand what you are saying but there are those that are truly interested in you and your health. I suffer from PTSD and have suffered from it since 1968. I always blamed my problems on everyone else until 2004 when my whole world caved in. I never sought help from any Professional and never took any medication for my sleeplessness or very restless sleep. Now I anxiously await my appointments with a Professional and take my medications daily. I still have my periods of depression and anxiety but I'll never get rid of those. Hang in there and take your medications regularly and most of all be truthful with your Professional.

Yes, several in my family were diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and it was hard for them to accept, but once you accept it, start your meds and it all will be fine. In our family, it appears that grandpa passed the gene on.

There's nothing to be embarassed about, it's something completely out of your control, that was part of the genetic makeup that you inherited. Thankfully, your future will be really bright, just make sure to keep taking your meds.

one part of being bipolar is the so called on going thoughts or rambling thoughts as they call them...Such thoughts tend to come about when you are trying to go to sleep (that's why most bi polars are on a med to help them sleep).
But anyway I was diagnosed with being bipolar 2005...And I have learned to except it (hate the meds) being that it came from family background.

You're thinking too much. Drink, and sleep well :-) I have met two people in my life that are "Bi-Polar". One thing I must say, is please take your medication. It really does help. Good luck.
