The only way to get your hair lighter is to use bleach. Some hair colours lighten more than others, so you could pobably use a medium blonde permanent hair colour instead of light blonde or bleach and toner to create the highlights.

There are ways to color your hair without bleach but they won't give you the same results. They do have a salon product that is like bleach but not quite as... shocking or damaging, its called Kaleidocolors. The best advice though, talk to your stylist, ask why she uses bleach, or if she is willing to try different types of bleach that are better for your hair. Whatever you do don't go in there acting like you know best and demand she does it differently, you may not like the results if don't talk about it first.

Be very clear with your stylist. Tell them exactly what you want. I have dark blonde hair naturally, so mine is probably not very different from yours. I always ask my stylist to use foils to highlight my hair. The fact is, there has to be a certain amount of bleach in the highlights, otherwise your hair will not become lighter, but there are ways to do it with less damage. Again, I would suggest that you just talk with your stylist. That's what you pay them for!

Good luck and have fun with your hair!

you can use the product called "color treatment". it won't damage your hair that bad, but the color can fade off. you have to choose to bleach it or color treatment.

if i were you, i would ask my hairdress to get back my nature color, and let the hair rest for a while. in the meantime, you should use a good hair product and go for hiar treatment much often.

your friends right there is no need to use bleach on your natural hair colour. ask your stylist to use the lightest blonde tint instead. you'll find it is a much nicer colour and will fel so much healthier thn bleach
