I was just wondering which one of the following is grammatically correct:
1 What do you look at in a man?
2 What do you look in a man?

I just cannot remember if the preposition at is needed or not.
Thanks a lot for your help,I'm trying to improve my English.

The preposition is necessary. If what you're trying to express is a question concerning the qualities one seeks in a man, I would suggest, "What do you look for in a man."

To look at something is to focus your vision on that object. To look for something is to attempt to find that object.
