OK, so I really want to go to another country, like India or Ethiopia and volunteer, like teaching English or something. But every volunteer group charges ME...and I have no extra money...Peace Corps all but requires a college degree AND a 2 year commitment...which would be nice, except that I don't have a degree and I only want to volunteer for up to a year. Now I knew someone who went to India for a year and taught English in an orphanage...through some charity, but she never told me...This is something I really feel called upon to do...and I was wondering if anyone knew any groups that would pay for ME to go volunteer...not an actual paycheck...just like transportation and housing...?

Try this link: http://www.volunteermatch.org/ I'm pretty sure that if they don't have the type of charity group you seek, they can guide you to someone who can help you.
You might also check with churches in your area. Even if they don't pay your way, they could probably support you through fundraising efforts and ongoing support.
Here's another link you might find helpful... http://www.worldvolunteerweb.org/
