I just bought a kitten and have booked his spaying in for May and it is £39. Check that maybe they are not charging you for something else like injections? I got two course of injections, his spaying and one years worth of frontline flea treatment and a years worth of worming tablets for £157 - which I think was a good deal. Shop elsewhere. I go to Pets at Home they have a vets inside called Companion Care - they are really good.

I would say that's about an average cost, your vet will need to cover the cost of the anaesthetic, the surgical equipment and materials plus any painkillers, antibiotics etc given at the time.

If money is a problem either the RSPCA or the Cats' Protection League run voucher schemes to help people with neutering costs.

I've just had my kitten spayed and it cost me £56 (in Ipswich) If however you are on benefits then call the RSPCA as certain places will do it for free, if you are not on benefits then you have to cough up I'm afraid. Why not try calling a few vets and just get a quote.

I got my pets spayed and neutered at a clinic called Luv-A-Pet
It was only $10 for the boys and $15 for the girls. And then they survive on donations. But, at that price you can afford to leave them! I took all of my pets and my sisters up there too. They did an excellant job and everyone is doing great!!!

Here in the US you can expect to pay anywhere between $100 to $200.
I'm not sure of the conversion from Pounds to Dollars, but I believe that would be about average.

You could always call around to different Vets and see what their prices are.

Good Luck.

Hey i live in Glasgow Scotland! And a just got my tom cat neutered on the 5th of Jan and it only cost me £28.50! And its a really good vet i go to. Maybe its more expensive for a female cat.

I am going at the end of the month and I am paying 150 my worries are whether the kittie will be in pain and if she will be scared when she stays there overnight, I am sooooo worried about her already and her appointment is the 29th. I would rather pay more to ensure she is more comfortable!! She means everything to me!!

I would expect to pay around $150 here in the States, so that sounds about right to me!
