I'm not an idiot. I know there is not 58 states, but hey...I was wondering what people would say. It's pretty amussing actually. My friend did want to know though...I'm not sure if she was joking or not....

R E T A R D... how many states are in the US? umm oh yeah that's right fifty nifty united stated from thirteen original colonies....
unless you are from the future and we have accepted PR, cuba, and finally decided that all the money we've poured into Iraq that we finally took it over and added it to our territory the correct answer is whoever asked that question is an IDIOT!

omg...tell your dear friend there are only 50 recognized states. However the US does have many colonies in addition to the 50 states.
