It's a very tough question whether we ought to let them wear clothing that interferes with police work and all that. Honestly yes, I think it is a violation of fundamental rights. Freedom of religion comes first and safety comes second. Especially when it's something so important as not being forced to expose a part of a person's body they're not comfortable exposing.

No, it isn't a fundamental right. Even if it were, your rights end where someone else's begin.
The veil and hijab are religious icons and the government has a valid interest in maintaining secular environments in government owned and operated facilities. Further, the veil and full hijab can be used to obscure the face and [in the case of hijab] body. This poses a significant security risk. Government identification documents are meaningless if you cannot compare the image on the card with the person before you.
In short -- security in the western world hinges on identifiability.
Don't like it... go live in the Middle East.
But don't go to Kuwait or Egypt, they've forbidden them too in public. For security reasons, no less...

No I do not, in todays world people need to be aountable. If you are hiding behind a mask you are not acccountable. Besides this is not about woem or religion, this is about the theives and terrorists. It is about being able to identify someone who has, is or is plannng on committing a crime.
Besides ladies is it not time to come out from the dark ages and see the light of day, how long do you want to be repressed by your men and your religion? I honestly can not understand you wanting to be required to wear a face mask, let you face be seen, let the sun warm your skin, let you ski breath. Besides why do they make you wear black, exspecialy when the religion is based in the middle east where it is so hot. Why black which absorbs the heat, are you being punised by your masters, why not white which is cooler. I notice men wear light colors but the women must wear black, seems like punishment to me. But you have been brainwashed to conform to the religious law so I doubt you see that very basic truth.
As to removing the veil yes I do think it should go, here in the US also, hell it could be a male criminal under that veil, how do we know?
I think is is a violation of your rights that you must wear the damn thing actually, but again you have been brainwashed into believing you should be allowed to wear it. Kind of twisted how people think oppression should be a God given right.

To start with you are lying in your question when you say muslim women have the fundamental right to wear what they like. Recently in Saudi Arabia the muslim religious police forced girls to go back into a burning school because they ran out to escape the fire without covering their faces. When they were forced back into the building to get their veils they died in the fire.
Muslims would rather see girls dead in a pile of smoldering rubble than see their faces as they save themselves from being burned to death. Surah 4:34 even tells muslims to beat their wives. In islam, women are considered property. In Iran there is a woman who was recently sentenced to death by stoning in the islamic courts because she stabbed a man who was trying to rape her, and her testimony was not allowed because she did not have four male witnesses to confirm her story.
Don't try to tell us that islam respects the rights of women. You are lying for pagan moon god allah and you know it.
If you don't like the freedoms in France and England, go back to allahland and take your camel and koran with you. We don't need you, camels, or the evil koran. We have enough toilet paper already, and that is all the koran is good for.

Because of the conflict this causes for the whole. For some odd reason Muslims believe that they should have more rights than all other groups.
As I've stated before when you get groups of Muslims concentrated in one area chaos ensues for all others.

Not head scarves; hijab, burqah, the full covering.
Tolerance has its limits. To be accepted, you have to share the fundamental values of liberal society: tolerance and openness. Those countries are figuring out that Islam wants tolerance only for itself, and is not willing to extend that tolerance for others, except as a strategy until a Muslim majority is achieved. Shariah is totally inimical to liberal, pluralistic western culture.
The veil as a cultural symbol represents an allegiance to everything that liberal democracy has managed to defeat over the past 300 years -- oppression, fundamentalist religion, intolerance, a monolithic cultural norm. So the Europeans, thank God, are finally saying No. The price of admission to the benefits of liberal society is that you share its fundamental values.

Like so many other things going on in the world at the moment, it's reactionary fear. People make decisions based on their emotions, and then try to rationalise them afterwards.
Oh, and to answer the question, I do think it's a violation of their rights.

No. There are certain requirements, rules and regulations that must be followed no matter what religion you are. I will use the drivers licence as an example. If you want to get a DL then you will be required to have your picture taken. Head dresses etc. will have to be removed for that picture. If this insults your beliefs, then please stay in the country in which you imigrated from, and enjoy the freedoms that are there.
