Hank Hanagraph just talked about this last night on the radio and I was surprised by what he said. Some people on here said 666 was the number for Nero and they were right!!!
In the first century they interchanged numbers to represent words, I didn't catch why but 600 60 and 6 was something to do with year and the line of a king/ruler. Jesus told John in revelation "these are the things are to SOON come to pass" Soon meant soon.
But there will be a final Antichrist, any one that denys Jesus as Christ IS Antichrist.
He was VERY interesting and made so much sense, look at his web site.

The short answer is that every religion ends up bringing in elements of that which came before it,either intentionally or at times because it's simply an element of what was worshipped before and ends up being incorporated without really thinking about it,just based upon tradition. Many religions in the past before and after Christianity have had elements of numerology and astrology. If you read the Bible you find many instances of the same numbers occuring time and again, and what of the star heralding the birth of Christ,a remnant of the obsession with previous people with astrology? And then of course there is the pesky little similarities with past religions like the ressurection of Christ three days after he died,a concept that had been done and celebrated 1000 years before he was born,it was either Dagon or Baal, can't remember for sure and it's not important the point remains the same. Every religion is simply an evolution of the myths and legends that came before.

The 666 thing is a myth propagated by Revelations.

The only REAL evil number is 0, you cannot divide by it.

Correspondences... Example: 7 is the most evil number , whose perfection is impossible to attack. 10 is evil for its memorial of our sorrow (Malkuth), yet holy, hiding in itself the return to the negative. 26 is accursed. As bad as 4 (the terrible number of the tetragrammaton, the great enemy. It is only useful when it is a weapon in your hand; then "if satan be divided against satan"...

it is basically superstition, the whole 666 thing is just retarded imo, it does mean something, but i think it'll take a long time before we realize what.
