I have been looking at various toy breeds for quite some time, when I came across a Japanese Chin. I hear they are quiet, indoor dogs, that love to please their owners. I was wondering if anyone who has owned one (or been around one) how they are as pets and if they would make a good inside dog. I have no other pets.

I have one and he is so sweet and loyal and affectionate. They thrive on attention and love anyone. They do not know a stranger.
An engaging and happy animal, the Chin has a lot of charm. He is affectionate and devoted to his family. He also gets along well with other household pets. the Chin has a mind of his own and likes to be the center of attention. He does not require a lot of exercise but does enjoy getting out and about.

They make better dust-mops. ;)

Like most toy breeds, chins are great inside dogs and tend to be very affectionate. I've never owned one, but I considered getting one a little while ago. (I opted for a terrier instead, wanting a more 'doggy' dog).

You might find a chin difficult to housebreak. It's not so much that Toys have an inherent problem with eliminating outside, but they can slip behind the couch and do their business before you realize it.

Find a reputable breeder who can tell you what diseases the breed is susceptible to (any good breeder should know this and be willing to tell you about it).

It type of relies upon. Diffrent insurances cover diffrent issues. some cover each vacation to the vet, others have intense deductables and in common words help with somewhat enormous vet expenses. in case you recognize what vet you intend to apply, a visit to communicate over with him might want to be so as. some vets have began to recomened particular coverage, and may also help you with paper artwork, ect. verify various diffrent agencies for diffirent coverage, some even cover dental artwork now. also speaking on your breeder to make certain what health issues she has had, make confident they are coated, too. it is a fairly intelligent idea, although that is a touch new, checking it over properly is smart!

HI
Yes they do! They are sweet and good pets I breed pugs and French bulldogs and just fell in love with the chin when I met a breeder. I also love pekes and all the oriental breeds.
