Well it all depends on if it was a drug felony or not, drug felons cant get any assistance (well in Tn) but murdering SOBs can, Go to your Local Department of Human Services, and ask them, they will have all the info you need there! Good Luck

I've seen this - applications for housing can often include conditions relating to the applicants criminal record
The best options for your friend are family, someone seeking a roommate that can handle an infant being in the home soon, a friend, or to request additional time in a halfway house (this is sometimes done, but it is rare)
As far as employment, most employers (I am one) don't really care too much about mistakes people have made in the past if they seem to be willing and able to turn those skills and traits into a benefit for the community.

Being convicted of check kiting or forgery, she is going to have a difficult time finding anybody who will be willing to extend credit. I would suggest that she find a room mate for the first year or two.

Felons don't deserve housing. The baby should be taken away and given to a nice family. And the felons well should be put on an Island or shot. It really sucks that my tax dollars have to pay for this kinda crap because she probably will get some assistance. How about you loan her the money and she pay you back when she gets a job. No wait uncle SAM will help her and us unlawful citizens who have jobs will pay for it.

you may't use this as an excuse. i'm a convicted felon (14 years in the past). in spite of your rational, you may't use it as a crutch. for 3 years, I: (a) introduced papers in the morning for $220.00 a week. (b) Waited tables in the early lunch afternoon for $one hundred fifty a week (c) worked at a pizza place another day for $8/hr, earning $a hundred and sixty a week. for 3 years, I worked myself to the bone, earning approximately $30,000 a 12 months. After a whilst, i exchange into able to guard yet another paper path (which jumped my pay as much as $4 hundred a week). I grew to become supervisor of the pizza enterprise after 3 years, earning $500 a week and that i end waiting tables. After 3 years, i exchange into earning approximately $40 8,000 a 12 months. as quickly as i exchange into earning sturdy funds, i began out submitting my resumes to agencies. a million enterprise out of 20 does not require history exams. After 5 months of interviewing, I landed a job that paid $40,000. I had to positioned up to a drug attempt, yet no history verify. I probable went with the aid of one hundred jobs till i got here upon that one. yet they are accessible. do not BLAME THE equipment. discover jobs that don't require history exams and paintings your arms to the bone till you may properly be promoted from interior of. paintings frustrating and don't WHINE. non everlasting exertions agencies, contractors, and warehouse jobs infrequently require history exams. you're able to do IT. i'm living information.

She can talk to her P.O. (probation officer), also if you are talking about low income or section 8 housing, if its a felony, she's out of luck.
