Hi there- my husband and I have been waiting parents since last April when our homestudy was completed. I am just interested in talking to other waiting parents or adoptive parents about how you handled the "emotional rollercoaster" of the "wait", and your experiences, if you would be so kind to comment. We have been considered several times, however, for one reason or another, it wasn't the "right fit" for the birth parents, or us.

As a hopeful adoptive parent. I know that waiting for the right match can make time stand still. There are days when you are hopeful and other days when you want to throw in the towel.

I found a very helpful forum for adoption parents. The women there are very supportive and are all at various stages of domestic and international adoption.

Good luck, I hope you are matched soon!

i know what you mean. fortunatly the agency i went with has a very short wait time. i was matched within a month, and my friend was just matched withing 48 hours. but the years of fertility treatments and then once we decided to adopt the wait to find an agency and then get everything in order was terrible. all i have to say as for the right fit, was that was not your child. you will find your child one day and it will be the right fit. i know that probably doesn't help while you are waiting. have you talked with the agency and have they offered any assistance as to what you can do to stand out more? my best wishes to you!
