People don't intentionaly harm the environment. Its the era we are living in. For example traffic polution, Dust, noise polution, less trees these cannot be controlled because we are a developing country. But things like spitting, smoking,putting up lables anywhere this is only because of uneducation.

As many people have already answered, greed seems to be a major factor. I watched this programme on the environmental crises facing our planet, and this guy from a neo-conservative think in America basically downplayed every single environmental problem, from de-forestation to drilling for oil in Alaska. It was obvious to anyone with common sense that this guy hasn't done a hard day's work in his life and was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
He was classic demonstration of George Orwell's "Double Think" in action.

obviously something went wrong in the education. it s important that parents show their kids that they have to have respect of the nature and treat it right. if they miss that a child will try out everything with an animal or will harm the evironment.
they never learned how to treat nature and what it means.
we have to teach that when kids are little.then there s a chance they understand.

infact we never ....harm nature intentionally....but owing to our profit making motives......we tend to harm them..
man as such is a comfort seeking creature...
whatever man does ....he first finds a use for it...
if one cuts trees -- he is goin to make house,furniture etc
if it is for elephant ovary --- they fetch a lot of money and r used in scientific research...the same things with tiger claws....
well some of 'em dont serve as the use but a fashion statement or pride..hence they have a black market for them..
since there is not much use of ice glaciers we never expoit them...but they r now melting due to global warming......
in fact its the race for power which makes human to harm the lesser creatures of nature..industrial,economical and all...
in fact he do not realize that nature is almighty,,jst think abt the faith of dinosaurs..the same can happen to us...

People don't necessarily "like" to hurt the environment, they just don't think of it when it comes to things like money, food, personal convenience or habit. Think of this if you use an aerosol spray for something.

i do not think people LIKE to harm the environment.. i think its ignorance. people should be educated for them to realize that they arent doing the right thing.
