It begins to show up in mere seconds. Which is fortunate for us diabetics who happen to develop an unexpectedly low blood sugar level now and then. At moments like that, a gulp of orange juice, with it's complex of sugars, can save our lives.

This is my guesstimate due to my dad being diabetic and when his sugar is low he has to drink or eat something sugary. It usually takes him about 10 minutes to start feeling better.

Sugar is rapidly absorbed. I have low blood sugar and I get relief within 2 minutes of taking in sugar.

Pretty much immediately. Isotonic sports drinks with maltodextrine are an immediate pick me up.
That's why many long distance runners have a few jelly beans on them. Instant glucose.

I agree, immediately. That's why we give diabetics sugar under the tongue when they go out because their glucose level is to low.
