No,there are a few rules that the sponsor had better be wary of. First of all a sponsor is giving a guarantee to The Government of Canada that Sponsor can provide work for sponsored for a full 5 years. If for any reason during this 5 year contract sponsored, ends up living on welfare or some other form of government transfer payments The Sponsor is legally bound to pay back to Revenue Canada all monies received by sponsor. Revenue Canada all the same power of IRS(though they do take a more sane approach, usually factoring in compassion, and what's the point of taking persons house, causing hardships that would probably lead two to sponsor on some sort of social program. They can put a lien on your property and garnishee wages. This will be done in accords to what you can afford(like all government bureaucrats, the ones running the numbers. (making between $120,00.00 and $ 195,00.00) to be fair these numbers are always run low when a Right wing government is in power.
They determine some nonsense that a family of 4 can manage fie on $12,00. a month. I mean sure Health Care, Basic dental for adults and full dental under 18 and all prescription drugs are covered. and of course I always assumed these things as inherent rights. Until I have read about your health crissis and how your congress and government always screws over the puplics heath and safety, to grovel to big pharma (who can pay big dividinds for re election campaings, Sorry for the little rant off track, it just maks my blood boilat how many lives r sacafriced by pharma greed. It is no wonder u have sociopaths runnig the county startng wars that are very profiable to them all.
The second rule of sponsoring is there is a cut off year, as bean counter decided after this year of life__? You are unwelcome. By their logic, you would onlybe able to work X amount of years before retiring then collecting Canada Pension. Threr for they would lose on this investment...Mary.

go to www.ccra.gc.ca and look up immigration information.

I think they can but I am not positive . It'll help get you more points to immigrate if you have a job already in Canada.
