This ex boyfriend is using an age old technique. He is keeping you on the sidelines just waiting around hoping for another chance, while he continually looking for someone better. Dump this dude once and for all, and dont look back.

so maybe its not really a break-up but a cool-off. nonetheless, dont wait for him. if he wants to stay in touch, make sure you both had enough time to calm down and think things through. if you keep on hurting, then for self-preservation, stay away. its most probably for the best. i know stuffs like 'Who knows" or "maybe.." or "If.." can give false hope, so dont cling on them. Just live your life without him on it. he had his chance and he lost it. if he really wants you back, then youll know in time.
