yes, we are indian being born here. every deed of us which lead to someone's happiness howsoever small is indeed a contribution to the nation. if you make someone laugh, a little bit of help to your friends, neighbours and strangers all form a part of our contribution in our own way. Each one of us can not be a politicians, or bureaucrats, or businessmen or farmers but every individuals has some inborn qualities ingrained in them since birth. if we discharge our duty with all honesty and sincerity, to me it is a great contribution to the nation. if somone lives happily with his family even under poverty, it is also a great contribution as he is contributing towards building a good citizen and a peaceful society around him. A milkman, postman, farmer, etc contribute in their own humble way. A simple and poor man contribute more than the rich and person of high society. what we act and behave in our daily life matters. To me love and respect towards one's countryman irrespective of race, caste, sex, colour will be a memorable contribution. you can be proud of being called yourself an indian if you love and respect your countrymen as a whole not HIndu nor muslim , christian etc. If you love your friend, neighbours irrespective caste and creed, sex, colours etc and if you love your country and its people, you deserve to be a proud indian.

Yes of course
You can do more than a memorable service to your nation by just making your nation your home and it's citizens your family
You don't need to join the army to serve the nation though it is good to do so and only the bravest can do it...
But you can do a lot by paying your taxes on time...preventing any crime that you can prevent...performing your duties toward your nation properly...demanding and using your rights in the right manner....by observing the law....by being truthful and by encouraging progess of the nation and nationalist thought
" You do what you can for the land of your birth...every drop makes an ocean....every patriot builds his nation."
Be Proud that you thought about this and still prouder that you still have time to make your nation better
