A friend and I were discussing what diiferent hugs mean. Now I was saying that if a girl hugs you and pats your back that means they are just friends but if she doesnt pat your back then there might be something more. I have seen many girls give one guy a hug by patting his back then give another guy one and not pat his back.

Is there really meaning behind this or did we have a usless argument? Thanks.

Why would you even discuss this if you were not 12.()

Actions always say it better than words. A 'hug' portrays love and affection. A 'pat' is re-assuring. A 'hug' followed by a 'pat' is a complete gesture depicting consolidation of affection. So, in my view it is really the other way round. A girl simply gives you a pat - she is just acting elderly; when she gives you a hug - she has affection for you (which may be purely friendly); but when she hugs and pats -- START DREAMING -- she might be onto something more serious than friendship.

If a girl gives you a hug by your midsection then that means she has feelings for you....if she wraps her arms around your neck then that means she is falling in love with you....if she just hugs you and pats you on your back that means you guys are just friends....you have to also take into consideration how tight or hard the hug is....the looser the hug the less feelings she has for you...or she might really not want to hug you....the harder the hug the more feelings she has......if a woman wraps her arms around your neck and gives you a tight or hard hug she truly loves you

Back patting is a kind of comforting gesture (think winding or comforting babies), a hug may mean nothing more than a gesture of affection. It really depends on your relationship with the hugger.

Back patting doesn't mean anything. If it's a full-body hug, that means more than an over-arm (no body contact) hug.

I dont think your observations is right. Hug just emphasise the emotion of a person. Its a "touch" therapy. Patting at the back or not doing it, I dont know whether it carries any definte signals!!!

Well, that doesn't apply to me. I don't pat people on the back unless the hug is too long.

definite there r in certainty 2 varieties of hugs, sturdy hugs and susceptible hugs. sturdy hug mean love and choose in direction of you, whilst susceptible hug mean merely attempting to be extreme high quality and say a rapid hi and the guy who supplies this susceptible form of hug mosy probable does not behold a sturdy emotion for the single he/she is hugging.
