if I'm not going to give in to the years anyway. I refuse to let the years get to me and bring me down ! Supposedly I've gained another year today - so I'll let them sing and I'll eat cake but do
I have to add on another number?

It's not about vanity, it's about mentality ...

I am happy, I love my years, I just can't imagine that I'm getting older, I feel like I'm mature enough but "younger than I am" person. I'm not looking to talk or dress 20 yrs younger, I just don't feel that the numbers always add up correctly to the attitude .. it's awesome.
And I've always taken the it's just a number not an attitude ... heck I've seen people who are amazing in their 50's to 90's
They look like they're having celebrations for living not actually adding years, I was just wondering if we're calculating it all wrong ...

thanks to all for your thoughts and wishes ...

I guess you could say I'm 30 with _ _ yrs of experience ...

so the best answer goes tooooo...........

My grandma always says: "Aging is the thing we do if we're lucky."

And adding years to your life as you go on is one of the most popular activities ever. Think of all the great people in history who have gotten older:

Leonardo DaVinci was born a baby. . . THEN HE GOT OLDER!
John F. Kennedy was born a baby. . . THEN HE GOT OLDER!
Sofia Loren was born a baby. . . THEN SHE GOT OLDER!

It's incredibly popular to get older.

And unavoidable. Even if you don't add a number to the age you tell people about, they will know. You will know. And you will be one of those creepy LosAngeles women who try to find the fountain of youth in some local spa. I've seen it, honey. And trust me, it's not pretty.

I say that you should wear your age, your true age, with pride. At the very least, it's a testament to how many years you've been able to stay alive and sane on this crazy planet.

As for me. . . . I CAN'T WAIT to get really, really old. I'm planning on being one of those 'dirty-old men' that the media enjoys stereotyping. Sounds like a great time.

Does it matter to you that you are counting the years while your family and yourself is rejoicing in their company and the party atmosphere? Are you not happy just being you?

I can imaging you being at sixty (or thereabout) years of age in the wheelchair or rocking chair being really stubborn and hard about birthdays that looks like someone who doesn't get along with anyone...

I am sure you will find life interesting as birthday is a way for you to gather your wisdom and of course, your smiles.

Sweetie you actually only have one birthday ... all the rest are simply anniversaries !

You're as young as you feel ... and the numbers just add themselves anyway.

In order to be alive, you must have birthdays. Plus, your birthdate will always add another year.
