Wow, I didn't get this memo. Apparently Christianity isn't a religion. *rolls eyes*
Guess we should start taxing these churches, then.
What a load of bull.
We don't need religion... there are a lot of people out there who don't need rules set forth by an invisible sky-daddy to live ethical, moral, happy lives. We know this, yet, we choose to condemn and demonize those who do not accept the status quo in this country.

What we need is an ongoing relationship with our maker. Sure, we all make mistakes as the Bible points out, but the more time we spend with God the more we learn about how not to make mistakes. We have a searching inside of us that only that relationship can fill. Money, power, sex, drugs, things, risks, etc, will not fill it. So if religion is defined as a relationship with our maker, then yes we need a religion.

Everyone makes mistakes, it is human nature. The jury is still out on "needing "religion. You have to figure out where the correct society guidelines originated from, but then, people will argue about that too, *sigh* The answer is....maybe. We definitely need some kind of rules (laws).

No we don't need a religion; all religions are man made. What we need is a relationship with the Creator of the Universe, Jesus Christ the Lord. Nothing but Jesus will benefit a sin-sick soul.

my opinion - only thing religion is good for is to make us weak and make us belive that we don't have control over our own lives; not to forget, take up arms and kill eachother in name of religion; religious conflicts has caused more turmoil in this world than everything else combined... i belive all this religion and associated non-sense was invented by come clever ruler back in the days as a way of controlling / dividing people.. so to answer ur question, no i don't think religion is necessary at all, it is even harmful to society

its not religion you need , its a relationship with the God of heaven who is your creator. Now he has made a way for you and him to have this relationship in the name of Jesus, it is by that name you can receive from the one true god his living holy spirit to come into you and lead you and bless your life, that what we Christians call being born again, he sends his spirit in to you and heals the hurts.Go read the book of John and see what Jesus is talking about and when you get to chapter 3 he tells all.

No, religion means nothing to me. I believe that humans(maybe even all life forms) have spirits though. So I believe in spirituality.

I do not follow religion. I follow Jesus. I believe Jesus came down here to free us from religions. To teach us how to have a personal relationship with God.
I need God because I want to be saved. I cannot make it to m Father's house except through Jesus, so I need to go to Jesus for my Salvation. If one does not want to go to heaven, then any other choice is fine. It really depends on what are your goals and if you care about your destination.
